the fall

ostentatious vivaciousness notwithstanding

commanding demands

counting the sands in an endless hourglass

like a single drop of rain

trickling

down

a

leaf

I curse you

he shouted in a jealous rage

head hung low

he walked away

not today

not today

spring training

delicious aroma of fresh-cut grass

wondrous sound of bat crushing ball

old warriors mixing it up with new faces

smiles all around

dawn

of

a

new

season

filled with child-like hopes and dreams

—  —  —  —  —

tea

debate supressed

marching orders given

stay the course no matter what

tumultuous turmoil

just say no just isn’t enough

ensuring increasing antipathy

confidence breeding contempt

lockstep goose-step

stop

progress

by

any

means

necessary

—  —  —  —  —

impartiality:

hope

darkest starless night

and I

hungry lost all alone

whence cometh I whither I goest

doubts and sorrows surround me like ivy

I cannot remember the way

this shall be my final day on earth

my mouth is a desert

the last dregs drunk

I am completely spent

then far away in the distance

 a faint flicker of light

—  —  —  —  —

suspicion

I know it’s hiding

behind the bushes under the rocks

evil has its own fetid smell

more astute than the average hunter

I will not slumber till my point is proved

my passions vindicated

only then will I find comfort

only then will I find peace

pray for Glenn:

make your case

what you mean to say say

tell the tale and be done with it

because words are like breaths

once released

irretrievable

like ammunition

accuracy matters

—  —  —  —  —

make your case, and make it good:
